What Equipment Do I Need?

Detailed below is a list of essential and desirable equipment Caravan Sites Direct recommend you take with you when going on holiday in your caravan. There may be other equipment you want to take with you, but this list gives you a good idea of what not to forget.

Essential Equipment

Towing Mirrors

These enable you to see past your caravan to the traffic behind, especially good on motorways and when reversing.

Gas Bottle

LPG This will enable you to use your heater, oven/hob, fridge and heat your water.

12v Battery

This is needed to power the lights and water pump.

Containers

You will need one for waste water and one for fresh water.

Towing Stabiliser

These are a good idea to have because they make sure the caravan doesn't sway when in transit, which can be dangerous.

Tool Kit

You never know when you may need some tools just to make a quick repair.

Desirable Equipment

Awning

An awning is a great way of extending your living space for either dining, sleeping, storage or a play area for children.

Ground Sheet

Essential if the weather is not so good, as it helps to reduce the dirt getting into you caravan. It can also help to take the chill off the floor.

Torch

Mattress Topper

Can help if your cushion is not quite as comfy as you would like. It simply rolls on to your cushions for additional support.

Electric Blow Heater

If travelling in winter, you may want to take an extra blow heater for those extra cold days.

Levelling Ramps

These are not essential but very useful, especially if pitching on grass or a field that isn't very even.

BBQ

Very useful on those hot days and a great way to socialise.

Television

Some of you may wish to get away from the TV, but others may wish to have the facility. It is possible to purchase a 12v Television or you can take your own from home.
